Detailed description
The specification sheet for this item is short, which is exactly why it gets mis-bought. Two suppliers can both call a roll nylon hook and loop and still ship different yarn counts, different hook densities and a different put-up.
What the buyer is choosing
Grade and backing are separate decisions. The same woven face is supplied plain for stitching, coated with acrylic for panels, or coated with rubber for rough and low-energy surfaces. Buying the face and the backing as one item is what produces the 'it stuck for a week then fell off' complaint.
The material question
This is a nylon-polyester blend rather than a single fibre. The nylon share carries the cycle life and the colour depth; the polyester share carries dimensional stability and the price. Blends are quoted by ratio, so if the ratio is not stated, the two quotes you are comparing are not for the same product.
How it is quoted
Quotations are built from construction, width and colour, in that order. Change any one of the three and the price moves, which is why we ask for all three before quoting instead of sending a range and adjusting afterwards.
What ships with the goods
Each carton is marked with the lot number, width, colour and quantity, and the lot report references the same number. That is what makes a claim traceable six months later instead of a conversation about photographs.
Checking it on arrival
Check the colour in the light the product is sold under. Warehouse fluorescent and daylight will disagree on dark greens and navies, and a lot rejected in one light is often accepted in the other. If it matters, agree the viewing condition before the order, not after.
Send the grade, width and colour with the annual volume and the quote comes back against a real construction rather than a catalogue range.
